[Sidenote: bootm.verbose shows some extra boot info]
The bootm handler code for arm64 is in arch/arm/lib64/armlinux.c
There's no loading of an initrd there, unlike arch/arm/lib32/bootm.c
so I'd assume it's indeed not implemented, but I don't think it's difficult
to add though, maybe you want to write a patch? :)
Otherwise, you could always have the initramfs embedded in the kernel image.
